Current and previous projects include:

  • Helped establish Upwardly Global‘s first Community of Practice: developed strategy, built partnerships, and established access for foreign-trained health professionals for roles in U.S. and global organizations.
  • Project management, communications, and stakeholder engagement for critical start-up phase of the Hewlett Foundation-funded Advocacy Accelerator, which strengthens in-country advocacy capacity, alignment, and impact in the Global South. Recruited three years later to support refresh and expand visibility of the Accelerator’s advocacy communications portfolio.
  • Catalyzed public-private partnerships for the Global Business Coalition on Health (now GBCHealth) in support of a United Nations and World Bank effort to empower women and girls in the Sahel. Recruited two years later to support advocacy, communications, and events related to UNFPA initiative around demography, peace, and security in the region.
  • Provided high-level strategic and programmatic advising and writing for Sesame Workshop and the pioneering WASH Up! campaign, which uses the new Muppet Raya to educate millions of children and caregivers in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East on handwashing and other hygiene practices. Raya is Sesame’s first Global Health Ambassador.
  • Researched and developed country-level policy and advocacy strategy for the Global Handwashing Partnership, which improves health and save the lives of children in the developing world. Identified three promising markets for country-level engagement based on research, expertise, and network in WASH.
  • With FSG, developed suite of case studies on sanitation and gender for the Gates Foundation. The overall intent of the documents was to build the capacity of WASH practitioners to take a gender-intentional approach to their investments.
  • Supported ongoing needs of Global Health Visions‘ clients, including the Gates Foundation, Planned Parenthood Global, and PATH. Projects included strategic planning, advocacy, research and analysis, and general support and guidance focused on family planning and maternal, newborn, and child health.
  • Developed presentation and completed research on WASH, gender, and youth inclusion for a USAID Water Resources Integration Development Initiative sub-contract to Iris Group.
  • Proposal development and writing for major individual donors to Orbis International.
  • Led on mapping, input on WASH funding prospects, and donor introductions for a Development Vision client.
  • Surveyed and educated grassroots American Christian members of the Women and Girls Working Group on global menstrual hygiene issues and ways to engage through advocacy, events, and fundraising.
  • Provided strategic guidance to the Secretary-General’s Every Woman Every Child initiative on WASH and child survival. In conjunction with the MDG Health Alliance and United Nations Foundation, catalyzed a webinar for the private sector on sanitation and nutrition linkages.
  • Supported Radiant Advocacy for foundation-sponsored regional children’s health advocacy capacity building workshop in the Caribbean.
  • Communications and technical assistance for Bowdoin College initiative to develop the world’s first curated, interactive, and open source digital humanities library of early modern Italian primary sources.
  • Edited doctoral dissertation on construction and the politics of dictatorship in Haiti and two Master’s theses on healthcare for underserved communities in the U.S.
